A Day in Honor of Shawna Barnes

WHEREAS, Shawna Barnes is a dedicated and exceptional public servant who has diligently provided 30 years of outstanding service to the State of Nevada; and;

WHEREAS, the State of Nevada recognizes her exceptional achievements with the Nevada Legislature, Department of Corrections, Division of Child and Family Services and commends her for a job well done; and;

WHEREAS, Shawna Barnes began her career as a Legislative Liaison during the 69th Session of the Nevada Legislature in 1997 and will end her career as a Social Services Program Specialist III/ Deputy Compact Administrator for Nevada Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children (ICPC) with the Division of Child and Family Services on July 3, 2025; and;

WHEREAS, Shawna Barnes is described by her contemporaries, friends and co-workers as a creative, energetic, helpful, hard-working, professional, articulate, fun and positive person; and;

WHEREAS, Shawna Barnes will sincerely be missed, both professionally and personally by all who have had the pleasure and good fortune to work with her; and;

WHEREAS, on behalf of all Nevadans and the State of Nevada, we express our deep appreciation and gratitude for her 30 years of devoted and honorable service. We extend our best wishes for a happy and fulfilling retirement;
