Achieving A Better Life Experience (Able) Savings Day In Nevada

WHEREAS, as the State of Nevada is committed to providing the best opportunities for success for those with disabilities; and;

WHEREAS, the Achieving a Better Life Experience (ABLE) Act of 2014 created tax-advantaged savings, spending, and investment accounts that allow eligible people with disabilities to save money, build assets, and financially plan for their future while protecting their eligibility for benefits such as Supplemental Security Income and Medicaid; and;

WHEREAS, funds in an ABLE account can be used to improve the health, independence, and quality of life for people with disabilities, and can be used on expenses such as adaptive technology, modifications to homes, physical therapy, food, and transportation; and;

WHEREAS, the State of Nevada launched their ABLE Program in July 2015 as the ABLE NEVADA Program. To date ABLE NEVADA has 2,754 open accounts and over $22 million assets under management; and;

WHEREAS, the State's ABLE NEVADA Program is a member of the ABLE Savings Plans Network (ASPN), a national working alliance of ABLE programs, administrations, and industry stakeholders that are collectively celebrating National ABLE Savings Day throughout the country; and;

WHEREAS, the State of Nevada, has partnered with the National ABLE Alliance, a consortium of 19 states dedicated to offering citizens living with disabilities ABLE savings plans with multiple financial options at low cost;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOE LOMBARDO, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim August 14, 2025, as
