Archives Month In Nevada

State of Nevada, Executive Department- A proclamation by the governor

WHEREAS, Nevada's archives and records repositories preserve the State's documentary heritage for present and future generations; and;

WHEREAS, these archives include government records, photographs, maps, film, oral recordings, manuscripts, journals, electronic media, and other materials contributing to Nevada's history; and;

WHEREAS, Nevada's archives document the formation and efforts of the Nevada National Guard dating back to the state militia in 1861; and;

WHEREAS, Nevada's archives document and recognize the contributions made by Nevada citizens to the United States armed forces during conflicts throughout history; and;

WHEREAS, in 2025, the Nevada State Archives is commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States armed forces and its essential role in the founding of our nation; and;

WHEREAS, October is celebrated as Archives Month across the United States;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOE LOMBARDO, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim the month of October 2025 as

ARCHIVES MONTH IN NEVADA
