Bike Month in Nevada

WHEREAS, there is a need to promote alternative forms of transportation such as bicycling to improve health and well-being in addition to reducing pollution, traffic congestion, and America's dependence on fossil fuels; and;

WHEREAS, creating a bicycle-friendly communities have been shown to improve quality of life, boost community spirit, improving traffic safety, and stimulating economic growth; and;

WHEREAS, bike paths and trails in Nevada have great potential to positively impact our recreation and tourism industry, by making the region attractive to businesses and citizens who enjoy the outdoors and healthy lifestyles; and;

WHEREAS, millions of Americans will experience the joys of bicycling during May through educational and safety programs, community events, or just getting out and going for a bike ride; and;

WHEREAS, May has been declared National Bike Month for each of the last 69 years; and;

WHEREAS, the State of Nevada commends all the participants of Nevada Bike Month and encourages all participants to remember to observe all safety measures, including wearing a helmet, and obeying all traffic laws;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOE LOMBARDO, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim May 2025 as

BIKE MONTH IN NEVADA
