Domestic Violence Awareness Month

October 1–31, 2025 • 12:00 AM - 12:00 AM PT

State of Nevada, Executive Department- A proclamation by the governor

WHEREAS, domestic violence impacts individuals of every age, race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, and community, requiring all Nevadans to unite in action to reduce harm and build safer futures; and;

WHEREAS, the crime of domestic violence strips individuals of their dignity, privacy, safety, and humanity through the systematic use of physical, emotional, psychological, sexual, and economic abuse and control; and;

WHEREAS, victim-survivors of domestic violence face profound barriers in seeking safety, yet demonstrate extraordinary courage, resilience, and strength in their journey toward healing and justice; and;

WHEREAS, advocacy programs across Nevada work tirelessly to support survivors and their families, provide critical services, and raise awareness about the ongoing crisis of domestic violence, serving as a voice for those impacted; and;

WHEREAS, the month of October is nationally recognized as Domestic Violence Awareness Month, a time to honor survivors, remember those we have lost, and commit to prevention through education, advocacy, and community action;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOE LOMBARDO, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim the month of October 2025, as

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AWARENESS MONTH
