WHEREAS, Don Laughlin is a renowned entrepreneur whose innovative vision and dedication led to the establishment and flourishment of the town of Laughlin, Nevada, which has become a major destination for Nevada tourism and entertainment; and;

WHEREAS, Don's investment in the Riverside Resort Hotel & Casino opening August 2, 1966, marked the beginning of a transformative era for the region, fostering economic development and creating numerous employment opportunities for the residents of Nevada; and;

WHEREAS, Don's philanthropic efforts have greatly benefited the Tri-State community, including the substantial contributions of the Laughlin Bridge, Laughlin Bullhead International Airport, Fisherman's Access Nevada State Park, and multiple charitable organizations, thereby enhancing the quality of life for countless individuals; and;

WHEREAS, Don's commitment to innovation in the gaming and hospitality industries has set a benchmark for excellence, earning him numerous accolades and recognition from industry peers and the wider community; and;

WHEREAS, Don's legacy of leadership, generosity, and community service serves as an inspiring example for future generations, reflecting the spirit of entrepreneurship and civic responsibility that define the State of Nevada; and;

WHEREAS, the establishment of Don Laughlin Day on August 2 would provide an opportunity for the citizens of Nevada to honor and celebrate the remarkable contributions of Don Laughlin, recognizing his lasting impact on the state and its people;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOE LOMBARDO, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim August 2, 2024, as a day in honor of
