Donate Life Month in Nevada

WHEREAS, nearly 700 Nevadans and more than 100,000 people in the US are currently in need of an organ transplant; and;

WHEREAS, many people are added to the nation's organ transplant waiting list each day - one every 8 minutes; and;

WHEREAS, approximately 13 people die daily in the United States, each waiting for an organ transplant; and;

WHEREAS, one organ, eye, and tissue donor may heal more than 75 people; and;

WHEREAS, every person, regardless of gender, age, race, ethnicity, or economic status, has the power and the potential to transform a life through organ, eye, and tissue donation; and;

WHEREAS, registering as an organ and tissue donor at a local Department of Motor Vehicles or online at https://www.nvdonor.org/ signifies our fundamental human responsibility to help others;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOE LOMBARDO, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim the month of April 2026
