MINORITY HEALTH MONTH IN NEVADA

April 1–2, 2024 • 12:00 AM - 12:00 AM PT

WHEREAS, Minority Health Month is recognized annually as an opportunity for the State of Nevada to emphasize the importance of culturally competent and accessible care for all Nevadans; and;

WHEREAS, the State of Nevada is committed to empowering, supporting, refining, and sustaining approaches to build its public health infrastructure, with an emphasis on prioritizing a workforce that reflects the demographics of Nevada; and;

WHEREAS, State agencies, community organizations and partners working together and engaging in initiatives to advance culturally responsive health literacy that fosters self-advocacy and knowledge necessary to maintain individual health and wellness is a benefit to all communities; and;

WHEREAS, all Nevadans are encouraged to increase knowledge of existing resources to maximize positive, resilient mental health; and;

WHEREAS, Minority Health Month is an opportunity for all Nevadans to build healthy habits for themselves and their families;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOE LOMBARDO, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim the month of April 2024 as

MINORITY HEALTH MONTH IN NEVADA
