NEVADA AIR NATIONAL GUARD’S 75th ANNIVERSARY
April 12–13, 2023 • 12:00 AM - 12:00 AM PT
WHEREAS, April 12, 1948 marks the first inspection and federal recognition of the 192nd Fighter Squadron, Nevada Air National Guard, at the Reno Army Air Base; and;
WHEREAS, this inspection marks the birth of an Air National Guard in Nevada and 2023 marks 75 years of service for the Nevada Air National Guard; and;
WHEREAS, this inspection marks the birth of an Air National Guard in Nevada and 2023 marks 75 years of service for the Nevada Air National Guard; and;
WHEREAS, the Nevada Air National Guard has supported the state of Nevada for various activations, from Operation Haylift in 1948 and 1949 aiding ranchers during a record-setting winter to wildland firefighting around the western United States today; and;
WHEREAS, the men and women of the Nevada Air National Guard continue to provide reliable and ready tactical airlift, intelligence and training for the U.S. Air Force; and;
WHEREAS, the Nevada Air National Guard has served three quarters of a century as a pillar of Nevada communities since its inception in 1948;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOE LOMBARDO, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim April 12, 2023 as a day of recognition of the
NEVADA AIR NATIONAL GUARD’S 75TH ANNIVERSARY
