PATRIOT DAY IN NEVADA

September 11–12, 2023 • 12:00 AM - 12:00 AM PT

WHEREAS, people all across America, and around the world, collectively witnessed an immense tragedy on September 11, 2001 and the events of that day altered lives; and;

WHEREAS, the heroism displayed will not be forgotten, and we remain thankful for the sacrifices of our firefighters, rescue and law enforcement personnel and military service members, and we are inspired by citizens who show strength during a time of tragedy; and;

WHEREAS, volunteerism strengthens the communities of the Silver State through service, and honors the sacrifice of those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001, or who rose in service as a result of that tragedy; and;

WHEREAS, those we lost September 11, 2001 will forever hold a cherished place in our hearts and in the history of our nation, and this day is an opportunity to join in this observance and engage in activities of tribute, solemn remembrance, good deeds, and charitable service;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOE LOMBARDO, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim September 11, 2023, as

PATRIOT DAY IN NEVADA

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Great Seal of the State of Nevada to be affixed at the State Capitol in Carson City, this 7th day of September, 2023 Governor's signature
