Wildland Firefighter Day in Nevada

WHEREAS, wildfire significantly impacts Nevada’s environmental, economic and social well-being; and;

WHEREAS, wildland firefighters work tirelessly to combat wildfires and mitigate their destructive effects; and;

WHEREAS, these brave individuals face extreme physical challenges and hazardous conditions, putting their lives at risk to safeguard lives, property, and the environment; and;

WHEREAS, their exceptional skills, training, and expertise in fire suppression, prevention, and management play a vital role in preserving Nevada’s ecosystems, promoting forest health, and maintaining the balance of nature; and;

WHEREAS, wildland firefighters demonstrate unwavering dedication not only during the active fire season but also through year-round training, preparedness efforts, and community education;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOE LOMBARDO, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim July 2, 2025, as
