Women's History Month & International Women's Day in Nevada

WHEREAS, Women's History Month, observed annually in March, provides an opportunity to recognize and honor the significant contributions women have made throughout history and their essential role in shaping the economic, cultural, civic, and social fabric of the State of Nevada; and;

WHEREAS, International Women's Day, observed globally on March 8, serves as a cornerstone of Women's History Month, celebrating the leadership, innovation, creativity, and service of women whose achievements continue to strengthen Nevada's communities and institutions; and;

WHEREAS, the 2026 International Women's Day theme, "Give to Gain," underscores the value of investing in women's talents, leadership, and ideas, recognizing that such investment drives economic growth, strengthens families, enhances workforce stability, and benefits the State of Nevada as a whole; and;

WHEREAS, women in Nevada have played, and continue to play, a vital role in advancing the state through entrepreneurship, education, healthcare, public service, business leadership, and volunteerism, contributing to Nevada's resilience and long-term prosperity; and;

WHEREAS, acknowledging the contributions of women highlights the positive impact of their work across industries and generations, encouraging continued civic engagement, collaboration, and innovation throughout Nevada; and;

WHEREAS, recognizing Women's History Month and International Women's Day provides an opportunity to honor past achievements while inspiring current and future generations to contribute their skills and leadership to the continued growth and success of the State of Nevada;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOE LOMBARDO, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim the month of March 2026 and March 8, 2026, as

WOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH & INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY IN NEVADA
